The devastating flood has disconnected Swat from other areas of
the country because all the 32 bridges were destroyed by this
calamitous flood that connected Matta Tehsil with Tehsil Swat
and Khwazakhela, which resulted in the delay of emergency relief
activity as well as caused shortages of food items in the local
markets. People were desperate to find food and medicine, which
might result in a kind of anarchy in an area hit hard by
Taliban.

RIPORT raised an amount of Rs 2, 27,380 of which Rs 1, 04,438
were collected by Malgaro Kor Staff and the rest was collected
by RIPORT Head office staff. 95 food packets were purchased from
Peshawar (Saddique & Sons whole sale dealers, Kachehri Gate
Ashraf Road) keeping in view the availability of food items at
low prices and good quality food. 50 food packets were purchased
on August 12th, 2010 while 45 food packets were purchased on
August 14th, 2010.
